Mustapha turned out to be a steal in the fourth round of last year's draft after posting 72 tackles and one interception among five pass defenses across 16 games as a rookie. The Wake Forest product took over a vacant safety position for San Francisco that was marred by injury in 2024, running away with the job by providing consistent and physical play alongside Ji'Ayir Brown. The young safety duo will run things back this season as the head of the 49ers' athletic secondary.
