Charbonnet is likely somewhat overqualified as the RB2 in Seattle behind Kenneth Walker, but when Walker missed time in 2024 due to injury Charbonnet demonstrated his value to the Seahawks. Charbonnet was good enough as a spot starter in Walker's place to potentially make their workload split more even in 2025 than it was in 2023 or 2024 - years where Walker would get most of the work and Charbonnet got little more than passing-down scraps. While Walker is likely a better pure runner than Charbonnet, (A) Walker is merely an above-average runner rather than a truly great one, and (B) Charbonnet's abilities as a passing-down back are arguably less common than Walker's otherwise standout rushing abilities. The Seahawks could very well give both running backs a big workload in 2025, because Sam Darnold can't withstand extended exposure and the running game is the one way to truly provide shelter to Darnold and limit his turnover tendencies. In such a scenario Charbonnet might be able to provide flex utility in most formats even when Walker is healthy, but generally Charbonnet is a guy you'd ideally unleash on weeks where you know Walker isn't playing. Charbonnet demonstrated legitimate RB1 fantasy upside when Walker was absent in 2024, especially against Arizona in Week 14 (193 yards and two touchdowns from scrimmage).
