On the surface, Williams took a significant step backward in 2023, as his sack total dropped from 12.5 in 2022 to 5.0. While that was disappointing, his ability to impact the quarterback suggests his production will tick back up in 2024. Wiliams recorded 53 quarterback hurries (per PFF) - only Aaron Donald had more among interior linemen - and also had a pass-rush win rate of 19.5 percent - third-highest among interior defensive linemen. The situation around him also improved despite some offseason departures, as the Jets added Javon Kinlaw to pair with Williams on the interior, a move that should help take some attention away from him. The best thing about Williams' profile is that even if his sack total remains relatively flat, he remains an elite run stuffer and will undoubtedly be a centerpiece of New York's defense.
