Bates has always had ball-hawking tendencies, but his ability to force turnovers has taken off with the Falcons. In two years with the team, he's forced a combined 10 interceptions and seven fumbles. His tackle total took a step back during his second season in Atlanta, but 102 stops is hardly a concern. That's particularly true because he topped 1,000 defensive snaps for the second straight campaign and for the fifth time in his seven-year career. Bates enters his age-28 season in 2025, so there's no reason to believe his role or production will change for the negative. Other defensive backs will have more tackles, but Bates has arguably the safest floor at the position.
