Not much went right for the Bears' defense in 2024, but Dexter quietly took a significant step forward in only his second season as a pro. Not only did he take on a larger role by increasing his defensive snaps from 310 to 591, but he was also far more impactful on a per-snap basis. Despite primarily lining up as a defensive tackle, Dexter played more snaps as a pass rusher than run defender. Among over 200 players at the position, Dexter finished 24th in total pressures forced and 48th in pass rush win rate, per PFF. While still far from elite, Dexter also took a step forward as a run defender, setting himself up to be a three-down lineman and key player in the middle of Chicago's defense for several seasons.
