Gesicki re-signed with the Bengals in March for three years and $25.5 million, after catching 65 passes for 665 yards and two TDs on 83 targets in 2024, ranking eighth among tight ends in receptions and 10th in yards. He had only 606 receiving yards over the preceding two seasons combined while playing for the Dolphins and Patriots, but that was after he topped 700 yards in both 2020 and 2021 with Miami. The new contract keeps him in one of the NFL's top passing offenses, albeit as a distant third option behind WRs Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. Only 10 of Gesicki's 83 targets last season came in the red zone, and he has just 22 touchdowns through seven NFL seasons, in part because subpar blocking often keeps him off the field near the goal line. On the other hand, availability has been a strong point for the 6-foot-6 TE, playing 115 of a possible 116 regular-season games since he entered the NFL in 2018 as a second-round pick.
