Williams heads to New England as the 69th overall pick after a college career with five consecutive seasons of more than 400 yards, including receiving lines of 61-843-6 (2023) and 70-1,198-14 (2024) after transferring to Washington State. Unlike most five-year contributors, he's not especially old for his draft class, having first played at UNLV when he was just 17 years old. Williams proved his speed with a 4.40 at this year's combine, although his jumps (36.5-inch vertical, 119-inch broad jump) hint at merely average athleticism for a 5-foot-11, 190-pound wideout. In New England, he'll have a chance to immediately become QB Drake Maye's top deep threat -- a role 2023 sixth-round pick Kayshon Boutte handled with mixed results last year. The Patriots' top targets otherwise are 31-year-old Stefon Diggs (rehabbing an ACL tear), slot receiver DeMario Douglas and tight end Hunter Henry, which means there are plenty of downfield targets for the taking in an offense with a strong-armed, aggressive QB.
