Mullings mostly played linebacker for three years at Michigan before transitioning to running back full-time in 2023. He was merely the third-string RB during Michigan's national championship season, but Mullings then leapfrogged Donovan Edwards to take over the lead role in 2024 after Blake Corum left for the NFL. Mullings responded with a 185-948-12 rushing line, averaging 5.1 YPC and catching just six passes in 12 games. It was a workmanlike showing rather than an explosive one, but the Titans deemed him worth of a sixth-round pick this spring, giving Mullings the chance to compete for a No. 3 RB job behind Tony Pollard and Tyjae Spears.
