The 49ers took Moody with the 99th overall pick in the 2023 Draft and have stuck with him so far through two rocky seasons. His rookie year was statistically solid and included a game-tying, 53-yard field goal late in the Super Bowl, but there were also prominent misses late in games and then throughout the playoffs. Moody's second season went even worse, featuring 10 missed field goals (on 34 tries) even though he missed four weeks with an ankle injury. Coach Kyle Shanahan already confirmed Moody will face job competition for 2025, telling reporters that the 49ers plan to sign a veteran at some point. They attempted the third most field goals last season, so whoever wins the job could establish fantasy value even with shaky accuracy.
