It was far from a perfect rookie season for Cooper, but he flashed productivity in all three phases of defense while also seeing his role increase as the season progressed. He began the campaign in a reserve role but eventually replaced Isaiah McDuffie as the primary inside linebacker working alongside Quay Walker. The results were exciting, if inconsistent. Cooper used his speed and explosiveness to regularly burst into the backfield and make plays disrupting the offense (13 tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits and 3.5 sacks) but also had a missed tackle rate of 15.4 percent. He was also sufficient in coverage, so a three-down role as early as 2025 isn't out of the question. Cooper is one of the top IDP breakout candidates.
