Although no one will confuse him for one of the truly elite running backs, Jacobs made a convincing case in 2024 that he was underrated going into the season. The Packers were vindicated in their decision to move on from the beloved Aaron Jones and bring in Jacobs as their starter, both because Jacobs' production was good in general and because his stocky, strong frame allowed the team to run power concepts that didn't work well with Jones. Despite failing to score in his first four games, Jacobs finished 2024 with a career-high 16 TDs, tied for fifth most among all players. As great as 2024 went for him, it was a less encouraging year for Green Bay's offense in general, with QB Jordan Love and WR Christian Watson (among others) hitting plateaus or setbacks. Jacobs became the centerpiece of an otherwise inconsistent offense, topping 20 touches eight times as the first true workhorse back of coach Matt LaFleur's tenure in Green Bay. LaFleur may try to give backups more of those touches this year, but it's not a group strong enough to give Jacobs serious trouble.
