Reed isn't fast for a smaller wide receiver, having run a 4.45 40 at 5-11, 187, but that hasn't stopped him from frequently making big plays out of the slot ever since Green Bay took him in the second round of the 2023 Draft. His combination of big receiving plays and semi-regular carries (31-282-3 career rushing line) seems promising for fantasy, but Reed's target volume took a step back rather than forward between Years 1 and 2, in part because he continued coming off the field for two-wide formations. His two best games last season both occurred within the first four weeks, after which he never had more than six targets in a single game. His 11.4 YPT ranked third among qualified WRs, but he drew 19 fewer targets than he had as a rookie, with his target rate dropping from 23.1 percent of routes all the way down to 16.8 percent. Reed's impressive per-target efficiency and frequent TDs suggest he deserves more chances, and quite possibly more playing time in two-wide sets, with few players offering a better mix of route-running and after-the-catch skills. On the other hand, there's no guaranteed of further development (he turned 25 in April), and Reed will again be playing with the same coach and quarterback that failed to give him big-time volume the past two years, only now facing the additional challenge of an incoming first-round pick (WR Matthew Golden) adding more competition for snaps and targets.
