The hiring of Brian Flores proved to be key to a number of breakout players on the defensive side of the ball for Minnesota, and Bynum was among them. Playing a significant number of snaps was nothing new for him - he topped 1,000 defensive snaps for the second straight season - but his deployment changed significantly. Bynum played as a traditional free safety in 2022, but he was utilized all around the field last season by seeing a significant number of snaps both inside the box and as a slot corner in addition to his traditional usage. He rewarded the team with a much-improved performance in coverage, while also showcasing additional playmaking ability with three forced fumbles. Flores is back as defensive coordinator and Bynum should be in line for another big season in 2024.
