After a strong first season in New York, Brunson took another step forward in 2023-24 and averaged a career-high 28.7 points per game en route to leading the shorthanded Knicks to the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. He appeared in 77 regular-season games but fractured his hand during New York's Game 7 loss to Indiana in the playoffs. He underwent surgery and is expected to be fully available for training camp. However, Brunson's fantasy value may look different in 2024-25. For one, OG Anunoby is expected to be fully healthy, which should take some of the offensive burden off Brunson's shoulders. The Knicks also traded for Mikal Bridges this offseason, adding another multi-talented player to a wing corps that includes Josh Hart and Miles McBride. Lastly, New York made another blockbuster trade before trading camp, sending Donte DiVincenzo and Julius Randle to Minnesota for Karl-Anthony Towns. Despite all of that, Brunson is still the heart and soul of the new-look Knicks and should continue to reap the statistical benefits of that role. Brunson has finished inside the top 50 in eight-category leagues in three straight campaigns, including a career-high 18th-place finish last season.
