Walker is one of the league's toughest tackles when he has the ball, boasting a unique combination of anchor, change of direction and burst that makes him slippery even when he's seemingly cornered. In a certain scenario it would be easy enough to imagine Walker finishing the year among the league's leading rushers, but his exact role with Seattle might be in a slight flux after recurring lower-body injuries allowed fellow former second-round pick Zach Charbonnet to get his foot into the door, especially on passing downs. Walker's willingness to play injured has probably hurt his rushing average slightly over the last two years - his YPC fell from 4.6 in 2022 to under 4.0 yards per carry since then - but if Walker proves an ongoing injury risk as a starter then it might be in Seattle's best interest to lessen his workload in exchange for better explosiveness and longevity. It remains to be seen whether new offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak will prioritize usage differently than Ryan Grubb before him, but Walker's incumbent status and uncommon raw explosiveness make him the favorite to remain the clear lead back over Charbonnet.
