The Chargers are betting on one of Tre Harris, Quentin Johnston or Lambert-Smith to emerge as their preferred outside target for the long term. While the former options have significant draft capital attached to their resume, the rookie fifth-round pick was arguably as productive as his more highly-drafted teammates last year at Auburn, compiling 50 receptions for 981 yards and eight touchdowns in an offense that otherwise struggled to move the ball through the air consistently. At 6-1, Lambert-Smith has some loud athletic tools, including a 4.37 40-yard dash at the Combine, that make him an intriguing candidate to monitor throughout training camp.
