A sixth-round pick in 2022, Salyer was forced into a starting role early with injuries to Rashawn Slater (biceps) and Corey Linsley (knee/concussion). The rookie held his own and wound up starting 14 games with almost all coming at left tackle. With everyone healthy, the Chargers will start the 2023 campaign with Salyer kicking inside to right guard, although the 6-foot-4, 325-pound offensive lineman could easily transition to right tackle if the team grows weary of the embattled veteran Trey Pipkins.
