Conner played in all 17 regular-season games for the Chiefs as a rookie in 2023, though he logged more snaps on special teams (329) than on defense (292). His playing time on defense increased late in the campaign and into the postseason, however, and Conner's best game came in Kansas City's AFC Divisional Round playoff win against Buffalo, when he played every defensive snap and logged a season-high 10 tackles in addition to forcing a fumble. Conner should be a prominent part of the Chiefs' secondary from Week 1 of the coming campaign, as he's the early favorite for the starting job at nickel corner.
