Hufanga continued his ascension as one of the top safeties in the league in 2023 by recording 52 tackles and three interceptions across 10 games before suffering a torn ACL in Week 11. Personally trained by legendary safety Troy Polamalu, Hufanga boasts a similar combination of physical play with a nose for the football. Head coach Kyle Shanahan expects his starting safety to return to the field sometime during training camp, putting Hufanga in position to be an impact IDP player for the 2024 season.
