Thompson was a seventh-round pick in 2022 and saw sporadic playing time as Tua Tagovailoa's backup in Miami over the past few seasons. Thompson signed a contract with the Steelers during the offseason, but he could struggle to make the roster since the team brought in Aaron Rodgers, Mason Rudolph and Will Howard. Thompson hasn't had much success when on the field in the NFL, but it's possible that he lands a backup role or a spot on a practice squad in 2025.
