After a season-ending injury three plays into 2023, a disappointing 2024 earned him a ticket out of New York with one year left on his contract. Rodgers lacked mobility coming off the Achilles tear and dealt with a hamstring injury much of the year. But the biggest issue was an inability to stretch the field. Rogers posted a career-low 6.8-yard average target depth, 31st in the league, as nearly 70 percent of his attempts were less than 10 yards (4th). The midseason arrival of favorite-target Davante Adams didn't change much. Rodgers still finished eighth in yards and seventh in TD passes, but that was good for just QB15 in fantasy, a career low for a full season. Rodgers is expected to join the Steelers this season. If so, he'll only have one quality WR target, as the Steelers traded for DK Metcalf in March only to trade George Pickens in May. That leaves Robert Woods, who is 33, and Calvin Austin, who is 5-9, 169. Pat Freiermuth is at least a somewhat reliable tight end. The offense likely will run through the backfield in Jaylen Warren and rookie Kaleb Johnson anyway, much like it did last year when the Steelers ranked 28th in pass percentage (52.7) and 29th in attempts (506). Unless Rodgers dramatically increases his YPA (6.7, 28th), 500 attempts isn't going to get it done, especially for a QB without rushing upside. And with Rogers now 41, it's safer to bet the under.
