As is commonly the case in the Philadelphia defense, Dean had to pay his dues before finding himself on the field consistently. He logged a career-high 815 defensive snaps across 15 games in 2024 while also displaying elite traits as a run stopper. Per PFF, he logged a 13 percent run-stuff rate, second in the league among linebackers with at least 150 defensive snaps. That translated to nine tackles for loss and 128 total tackles. Two looming concerns prevent projecting a full breakout for Dean. First is that he is recovering from a torn patellar tendon that happened late in the 2024 campaign. He is likely to be ready for the start of the season, but we know Philadelphia will manage him carefully. Perhaps relatedly, the Eagles selected Jihaad Campbell with the 32nd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, who could emerge to force Dean back into a modified rotational role.
