The Cowboys surprisingly didn't devote significant resources to their backfield in the 2025 Draft, waiting until the fifth round to select Blue. The Texas product has top-shelf speed, popping a 4.38 in the 40-yard dash at the combine, but his smaller frame and tendency to get caught up in traffic could limit the volume he can handle in the NFL. Dallas lacks a clear No. 1 back however, with retreads Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders at the top of the chart chart, so Blue's ability to do damage in the open field should earn him a role.
