Goff turned in another solid fantasy season in 2024, but this time it was more dependent on efficiency than volume. He had a three-year low in attempts (66 fewer than in 2023) but completed a career-high 72.4 percent of his passes, pushing his YPA to a career-high 8.6 -- both ranked second in the league. Goff doesn't have the arm to routinely attack downfield -- he had a 6.8-yard average target depth (32nd) with just 6.1 percent of attempts going 20-plus yards downfield (34th) -- but he doesn't need to in Detroit's offense. Heavy use of pre-snap motion and play-action to create space and receiver mismatches helped Detroit lead the league in both total yards after the catch (2,669) and YAC per reception (6.7). Goff threw a career-high 37 TDs, and his red-zone TD rate was a tick below league average, meaning his 23 red-zone TDs are probably sustainable. The biggest change for 2025 is the departure of offensive coordinator Ben Johnson. John Morton, an assistant for Johnson in 2022 before a two-year stint in Denver, is the new OC and is expected to maintain the current system. Detroit returns four of five O-line starters and all the key playmakers, namely WRs Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, RBs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery and TE Sam LaPorta. Assuming Morton's first spin calling plays doesn't backfire, Goff could again finish as a top-10 fantasy QB (even though he offers nothing on the ground).
