Okwuegbunam's 2022 season was a major disappointment, as the 2020 fourth-rounder finished with 10 catches for 95 yards and one touchdown while playing in only eight games. The 25-year-old had high expectations after Noah Fant's departure last offseason, but he was unable to take advantage of his impressive athleticism with limited opportunities. Okwuegbunam profiles as the No. 2 tight end behind Greg Dulcich, but his spot as the primary backup could be in danger. This offseason, the Broncos signed Adam Trautman, reuniting him with Denver's new head coach Sean Payton, whom he played under in New Orleans.
