The Raiders signed Mostert to a one-year contract in free agency, and the vast majority if it is not guaranteed money. At 33 years old Mostert's days of contributing positive snaps from the running back position might be gone, and the lack of guaranteed money in his deal indicates that Mostert isn't even a lock to stick around as a special teams gunner, though the last time he served that function he was quite good at it. Mostert's brutal 3.3 yards per carry from 2024 might have been informed by chest and hip injuries that he played through, but even if he stays healthy with the Raiders it's likely that he would see more snaps on special teams than on offense. This is Ashton Jeanty's team, and there could be at least one other running back ahead of Mostert on the depth chart even if he makes the team.
