The Vikings drafted Felton in the third round this spring, 102nd overall, bringing in competition for incumbent No. 3 receiver Jalen Nailor, who scored six touchdowns on just 42 targets last season. It'll likely remain a low-volume role even if Felton takes over, as the Vikings still have WR Justin Jefferson, WR Jordan Addison and TE T.J. Hockenson to handle most of the passes from young quarterback J.J. McCarthy. There is reason to think Felton could fill in capably for Jefferson or Addison if given the chance, considering Felton exploded for 1,124 receiving yards and nine touchdowns last year in his final season at Maryland. He also stood out at the 2024 Combine, where he finished top six among WRs in the 40-yard dash (4.37), vertical jump (39.5 inches) and broad jump (130 inches). Felton's thin build (6-foot-1, 183 pounds) is a concern, but he may have the speed and explosiveness to thrive anyway -- be it during his rookie season of further down the road.
