A person might look at Davis' 2024 box score and conclude he was somewhat ineffective in comparison to fellow Bills running backs James Cook and Ty Johnson, but Davis' rookie-year numbers don't tell the entire story. At 5-foot-8, 220 pounds Davis is the clear power specialist of the trio, meaning he profiles for the most thankless work of the three while the Bills understandably save their most teed-up looks for Cook and Johnson, both of whom are uniquely explosive. Davis can be fairly explosive in his own right, though, and in the event that he sees escalated opportunity Davis has the talent to capitalize. A good example of this was against the Jets in Week 6, when Cook sat out with a toe injury. Davis easily transformed into a three-down starter with Cook absent, rushing for 97 yards on 20 carries and catching three passes for 55 yards on three targets. As much as Cook is the clear RB1 in Buffalo and as much as Johnson presses Davis' margins even further, it's arguably Davis who has the most best-case fantasy upside of the three because Davis can play a true workhorse role, including power running concepts, and therefore Davis can incur more usage volume in starting situations.
