Garoppolo signed with the Rams in March to back up Matthew Stafford after a one-year stint in Las Vegas that saw him benched by Week 9. He actually threw the ball downfield more than usual last season (six-year high 8.1 average target depth), but it didn't result in much good. At the time of his benching, Garoppolo led the league in interceptions and his 65.1 completion percentage was a career low with a minimum 90 attempts. If he gets on the field this year, he'll likely revert to his usual game-manager role with little downfield passing and no rushing upside to speak of. While wideouts Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are skilled after the catch, it doesn't leave much room for Garoppolo to make a fantasy impact, even in two-QB leagues. Garoppolo, who turns 33 in November, also is suspended the first two games for violating the league's performance-enhancing substances policy.
