Hawes joins Buffalo after having demonstrated acumen as a solid blocker in the run game during his time with Georgia Tech's rush-centric offense. The rookie fifth-rounder doesn't boast much of a pass-catching profile, but the presence of Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox leaves few such reps up for grabs at tight end regardless. Hawes doesn't project to consistently show up in the box score, but he could carve out a role on offense early as a blocker.
