Allen was drafted in the fifth round by the Rams in 2023 and proceeded to spend his rookie season backing up Tyler Higbee. Allen caught 10 of 11 targets for 95 yards and one touchdown in 15 appearances. Higbee is expected to miss a significant chunk of 2024 after tearing his ACL in the playoffs, and the Rams signed Colby Parkinson to start while Higbee's sidelined. Allen's expected to remain in a backup role barring an injury to Parkinson, and the second-year tight end out of Clemson is in danger of slipping another rung down the depth chart if Higbee's able to make it back in 2024.
