After looking like his career was nearly over the prior two seasons, Freeman had a mild resurgence in 2023 for a Rams team scrambling for backfield depth due to injuries. Over a five-game stretch between Weeks 7 and 12, the 28-year-old averaged 4.6 yards per carry on 12.6 totes per game, and he scored his first rushing TDs since 2019. Freeman saw only 14 carries the rest of the season, but he showed enough to get a one-year contract from the Cowboys this offseason. He'll compete for snaps in a wide-open backfield against Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle and others as Dallas looks to replace Tony Pollard, and while Freeman is unlikely to see big volume, he could be a useful part of a committee.
