Thomas is coming off a surprisingly productive age-32 season with Washington, as he posted the second-highest single-season totals of his career across the board with 55 catches for 496 yards and four touchdowns on 78 targets. Nonetheless, Thomas was a cap casualty for the Commanders in March, as Washington released Thomas and reshaped its tight end room by signing Zach Ertz and drafting Ben Sinnott in the second round. Thomas ended up with the 49ers but may not have a role or even a spot on the regular-season roster.
