Elaborating on my Jaguars turnover variance take from these last week or so:
QBs facing the Jaguars & Trevor Lawrence have the same amount of TWPs & Fumbles via PFF with 8 TWPs and 2 Fumbles.
- For Lawrence, those have resulted in 6 turnovers (60%)
- For QBs facing Jacksonville that has resulted in TWELVE turnovers (120%)
You cannot sustain that kind of play over a whole season sample size.
Where Texans DBs rank in Coverage EPA through 6 weeks:
4. Jalen Pitre (-16.6)
29. Calen Bullock (-5.3)
130. Derek Stingley Jr. (+5.4)
142. Kamari Lassiter (+7.5)
Worth every penny for JP5.
NFL Teams in the Top 12 in EPA/Play on offense & defense currently (before week 6 games) via @NextGenStats
- Colts
- Lions
- Texans
- Packers
- Chiefs
- Rams
Colts are genuinely a very good football team but the Jags don’t really scare me.
They are very lucky to be 4-2 with poor QB play and their defense forcing an unsustainable amount of turnovers.
Indy is really good however and that’s going to be really tough to catch.
Texans rooting list while we are on bye:
- Cardinals
- Seahawks
- Saints
- Browns
- Bears
Not feeling great about the chances in a lot of these
There are some struggles of C.J. Stroud but I don’t take his QB play for granted when you watch some other QBs around the NFL.
We are lucky to have him.
The Texans have allowed the least PPG of any team through 5 weeks over the last 3 seasons.
Their 12.2 PPG allowed is tied with the 2022 Niners/Bills.
Going into the bye week how are you feeling about C.J. Stroud & the Texans offense?
