Shaheed was a response to Kupp’s injury. They weren’t in dire need of a difference maker opposite JSN with Horton there. They needed depth so might as well get the guy Kubiak is familiar with if he’s available. They’re fully aware Horton is good and he’ll see the field more. No way they work Horton with the 1st team offense throughout camp, feature him in the redzone, see him succeed in a full time role, and stray away from it to favor the guy who just joins the team mid season. Sure a couple of Horton’s targets a game go to Shaheed but I can’t imagine Horton isn’t the WR2

Lot of cope in this chat. Seattle believes they can win a Super Bowl. Shaheed is a talented reciever on a bad team. These guys are paid to watch tape and no ball. The only reason you get a player like shaheed is to pair him with JSN. NFL isn’t fair, big blow to Horton, hopefully he’s got enough talent to beat out shaheed in the future but I doubt it this year

This may be sneakily good for Horton. JSN always had a profile more like kupps than Horton. This move for shaheed may allow them to move JSN in the slot more where he thrived in college and allow shaheed and Horton to occupy the outside roles in 3 wide sets.

Horton is WR2. They not blind. Shaheed is WR3 due to injury.
