A fourth-round pick of the Chargers in 2020, Kelley's career 3.6 yards per carry in sporadic work over four years was as much a product of his frequent usage in short-yardage situations as it was a mark of his lack of explosiveness. Even when Austin Ekeler struggled last year, Kelley couldn't take advantage and establish himself as a reliable backfield option. Los Angeles remade its running back room in the offseason for new head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Greg Roman, and Kelley wasn't re-signed after his rookie contract expired, putting his NFL future in question.
