“Former XFL QB Jordan Ta'amu is signing with the #Chiefs, per agent @kenny_zuckerman.”

We aren’t even sure just how sharp Bridgewater still is. Probably fine, but that’s a good deal. Bye Moore.
Its all about money for any XFL player, but that’s not going to help the league who needs to increase merchandise, ticket sakes and advertising sales enough to keep the league in business. The business model doesn’t work.
@Shayner it's essentially the same business model the NCAA is built on bruglio.
Its not even close! The NCAA has a tv deal worth 800 million dollars! The XFL gets nothing for playing their games on tv. Thats why the league won’t last. Like any other struggling business, you have to make enough $ to pay your bills and the XFL doesn’t and wint.
I don’t watch NCAA for the specific players, except for the good ones who will end up in the NFL. I watch NCAA for the football.. personally I could see how someone could take out “NCAA” in that sentence and replace it with “XFL”
Well you wrong
@Shayner you expect FOX or ESPN to pay big to air an unproven product? Eventually, once the product is proven to be a success, then they'll pay up. It sounds like you know nothing about business and will be shocked to hear that essentially no business make money in their first or even second year. Hell Tesla still hasn't turned a profit in this point in the company's life, and they're considered one of the biggest companies in the world right now.
I mean I’m not wrong! But yeah I also see your point which is that mainstream America does care about the superstar athletes, and if your league doesn’t have them it won’t ever match up with the NFL..
@Shayner excellent analysis there. "wElL yOu WrOnG"
I can’t attach the links here, but just google how much the NCAA gets for their tv rights and how much the XFL gets for their tv rights. Thats 800 million reasons why the NCAA will last and why the XFL wont.
In a world where major league lacrosse has existed for 20 years, why can’t this football league?
@Shayner refuted why that irrelevant in my previous comment. Learn to read.
XFL could ultimately make $50 million a year and be successful enough with that
Thats my point. Attendance will never get to the point where they will get money for their league to be on TV as a paid entity. TV ratings went down every week this XFL season. Look it up. You just assume it’ll be successful? It isn’t and it won’t be. Take a look at how much major league lacrosse plays their players and coaches compared to the XFL. The reason it can survive is because they pay their players nothing and they have little overhead. The XFL pays their players and coaches too much. They can't keep this up for more than three years.
Fair, but their ratings were consistently waaay higher than that of the AAF. Plus, next year they'll have better numbers with better name recognition and with their product being legitimized with actual former XFL players playing in the NFL. With any luck, Ta'amu or Walker will get a start or 2 and Parham will catch a couple TDs and people will go, oh shit, these guys are the real deal. It's not a certainty that the XFL will succeed, but it certainly has a better chance than you're giving it credit for.
It's just too much football. The reason WWE or the NLL works are because it's a different sport. There aren't more like it. By the time college and NFL football seasons are over, there just isn't enough interest. Yes, it'll do better than the AAF and they've learned from many of the AAF mistakes, but the only way they make it is if the NFL buys them out as a minor league and that won't happen. Do you have any clue how much it costs to rent an NFL or college football stadium for a day? It's crazy expensive! The business model just doesn't work. I'm not knocking the football, I'm happy for the guys who used it to get to the NFL, but that doesn't help the XFL pay their bills. I don't mean to hate on the league. I'm hating on the business model.
@Shayner fair enough, but McMahon already has 3 years of funds set aside so it'll last at least that long. Then it'll all come down to what kind of TV deals they can get, which won't be as much as the NCAA gets, but it won't have to be. Only time will tell.
I've just seen too many football leagues fail. The original XFL, the AAF and the Arena Football League (which had about three years of profitability). You're right. McMahon has $, but it's an expensive sport to play because of rent alone. I just don't think he or anyone for that matter can make it work. You're right, we won't know for a few more years.
Taking Mahomes job
Andy will get him ready and trade him for a third or 4th round draft pick in a few years. He grooms QBs with the best of them.
Worth a pick up and stash in dynasty?
How deep of a dynasty league are we tskking about here? I doubt it.
