Backups in the NFL are college players that MADE IT TO THE NFL! So beating up backups in the NFL is still better information than beating players in college. He also didn’t just beat - he dominated. A dropped TD and a Spectacular TD (called back for offensive holding) would have made it 300 yards 3 TD + a rushing TD. Teams are about to spend a first round pick on guys that haven’t played a snap against NFL players. Why not a 3rd on a guy that has in a good way.

Neither has cam ward, neither has shedeur sanders but those guys are going to cost a first rounder. I’m a giants fan. This means the 1.03 or potentially trading up and losing even more draft capital. I’ll take my chances with a guy that costs a 3rd round pick instead. And to boot a 6’5 230 pound qb with one of the strongest arms the nfl has seen + mobility. And if you watched the game it was an above average performance. Enough to get hype - what other QB taken after the third round is anyone talking about?
