For the non IDP players, where are we comfortable drafting Travis Hunter in dynasty this year? Let's assume we don't get any more clarity on WR/DB snaps than we currently know. I'm curious when people would be comfortable burning the pick in the event he's only a 10-12 offensive snap guy (non-fantasy relevant). Does landing spot matter? What other variables are a factor in his dynasty rookie draft capital? Let me know your thoughts 🍿

Landing spot and situation ALWAYS matter. That’s why I can’t figure out why people play in devy leagues or have rookie drafts before the NFL draft. Makes literally no sense at all unless you just want to make the game more luck based.

I think he will be drafted mid to late second round in most drafts, I will pass on him at that price, I don't know where the analysts came up with the 10-12 offensive plays I keep hearing, had to just pull it out of the sky without even knowing what team drafts him, and with the start of the season this far out, I don't know how many offensive plays he will get, if he gets any, and I don't believe he will play both sides of the ball for very long, the competition in the NFL is compared to college is massive, and it takes focus to be elite at one position, which I believe he can be, and he and his coaches will decide he is better off just forgetting about the two way idea

If his draft card says WR he is the top of the class. If it says CB then you can pick him up in the end of the 2nd round

If Hunter stays a CB i wouldn't be touching him until much later in rookie drafts, like 3rd round. Even then though, I prefer to take shots late at RB and may pass over him. Hunter is a great talent but he is a much better CB than he is WR, and going both ways in the NFL is close to unheard of. Sure, maybe he gets a few snaps here and there, but not enough to matter in my opinion. But obviously we have to wait to know for sure.

As for Hunter and the OP, I’ll need to wait till I do a deep dive on all the incoming rookies and wait till I see where they land. But I will say, I’ve seen the dual player a handful of times with some pretty talented players. It’s exciting for NFL scripts, but I have little interest in it from a fantasy perspective. I’d probably take a late flyer in him “in case”, but my guess is someone would be willing to take on more risk with him than me.
