Question for you guys How do you feel about jeanty? Does the fact that he played in a weaker conference and got shut down by Penn state make you concerned? 104 yards on 30 rushes 3 ypc Ok maybe not (shut down) but you get what I'm saying
Look at Josh Allen, played at freaking Wyoming and now he's arguably one of the best fantasy quarterbacks.
These larger school players usually have higher chance of busting not because they're not talented but because they never had to actually have to try to be good. So they never learn how to be the best, or what that takes. It's one of my biggest problems with some of these touted players and why I know certain schools players are way overrated.
@cwmoorez See that's why they have you forever "Optimism" because you remember what it used to be like and you remember that you used to be able to build teams and that every team in a big conference at least had a shot at a title. I don't think calling college football not a sport anymore is at all and extreme I think it's a criminal organization Like I said it is little bribery. I don't know if you know how the NIL works, But schools can use money that they have in their coffers to pay players they can use money that are donated by the boosters to pay players They also use boosters to sign a contract with these players so they are "advertising" their company or product for money. This is the exact same thing. What was it less than 10 years ago that we all know they did illegally. Only difference now is it's not hidden. They don't have profit sharing so the big schools can literally just steal everything from every other school. Except inside of conferences there is a type of profit sharing but it is not even. That's why you had a scramble to join these big conferences if you made it into one you could still make money. Everyone else Good luck. A strong commissioner huh? π€£π€£π€£π€£. How's all the other ones worked out? How's goodell worked out? The college football would never be run like that because you would have the people with money hiring their own boss So who would ever think he would do anything to stop the cash flow of these greedy people. It is an idyllic dream that you have there though. If you thought the NFL was corrupt and shady, The number they announced that they actually make isn't even close to the real number. And that's only 32 teams What is it in college 150? You think the pros make a lot of money It's nothing compared to college. And because both are non-profit they don't even have to announce what they actually make or pay taxes. With everything that's happening right now in this country You think they're going to go more oversight and actually hamper how much they think they can make out of all of this situation, who's going to do that? π€£π€£π€£that'll never happen. This is what happens when you let the people make everything about How much money they can make, Run everything.
@cwmoorez oh come on man You want someone like Goodell?? So you want someone to run a smokescreen for college football and pretend like they have a commissioner that doesn't do exactly what the owners want every single time? He is a joke and has no authority He just gets paid to have somebody to be able to point at him and say that's the figurehead not me, Don't blame me. Dude does nothing but run interference for the owners. Ohio State, Texas and Oregon paid out some of the most money in NiL. Who won the championship game again?? π€ Hmmm guess it was bought..... Yeah the money doesn't make it not a sport. You're right. The way it's distributed and the way they pretend like they don't pay teams to come and literally take a loss to a good team and that 98% of the other teams "competing for the championship" do not actually have a chance. The only reason they expanded the playoffs was because it was the same teams over and over and over and over and over again because those team spent all the money and people went well that doesn't look like most teams could even get into the playoffs. They don't even have to legitimately release how much NIL money they spend. Not to mention that's not including what the boosters give them That's not including what contracts give them. Yeah any given day you can theoretically have any team win.... But David isn't going to beat Goliath then beat another Goliath and then beat another Goliath that's not a thing π€£. You say the kids and coaches are all in No that's the whole point of what we're talking about where they transfer If they're getting paid more they don't care where they're going as long as they're getting paid more There's nothing wrong with them being paid the amounts are ridiculous. College football isn't a sport anymore. If it ever was. Take it easy man.
I don't want someone like Godell, I want someone along with conference representatives, in a position of authority, I don't think I have come up the only solution, I'm just not smart enough to think of a better idea, π I'm not trying to sell you on the idea, and there are gonna be flaws in any changes made, I don't expect it to be perfect but would like it to be better, you don't like the current situation or my commissioner idea, do you have a different/better idea? the teams that agree to play the out of conference games with the power conference teams agree to it for the money of course but also for the exposure and the experience, there is no way to make every college team competitive, part of the reason is money for sure, but location, population, commitment from the university to the team are all factors, you are right about the same teams in contention for the championship, with a few exceptions, so the transfer portal and the NIL didn't make as much of a difference last year as we were expecting, it was, with a few exceptions, the same teams as the previous season, and as far as the kids and coaches being all in, the majority of players aren't getting paid enough to make a difference in their life, and some aren't getting paid at all, and would most likely have to give up their scholarship if they transferred, university isn't going to take a scholarship away from one of their guys and give to the average athlete from a different school, those guys are all in, playing for more than money, and for the most part, the elite players are all in during the season, they are not as committed during off season, lol, has the recent state of college football brought you to the point you are now? or have you just never been a fan? There is no way to make every team in the NCAA competitive, money is one reason, but location, number of students enrolled, coaches... etc. are factors as well, and thanks for the conversation, I enjoy a different opinion
and now I'm repeating myself, sorry about that, I got distracted with my granddaughter and lost my place, lol
