Chase Brown I hesitate to post this, cuz part of me wants to keep his price depressed. But what’s with all the negativity about him? I typed out this long explanation of why I think that’s bananas, but apparently this forum dislikes my long winded posts even less than you fine folks. Thoughts?
There is room for at least some regression even if they bring in no one else
Now if Cincy just adds a vet or takes a rb later in the draft oh yeah chase brown will be a rb1 next year
That’s still 17% less snaps that he would see. That moves him into the who cares rb2 range of player
Take the lesser valued player at that point for cheaper capital
If 1 of two scenarios happen it will hurt brown: 1. They get some rb competition whether draft or FA. 2. The defense gets better meaning he won’t be so carried by targets
It’s been done before with Damien Pierce, Phillip Lindsay, James Robinson, so why couldn’t it happen with brown? I know injuries were a factor with some of those RBs but still
Just because the snap share reduces doesn’t mean the valued snaps which are the carries and backfield targets don’t continue to dominate with him sure he’ll be spelled that’s what any responsible staff should do. How many of the guys to get the 30% snap share get peppered with targets and carries during those snaps?
They also literally brought in a guy last year to take away his work load, they already told you what they think of him with that.
Herbert lol
Zach Moss lol
Beginning of last season
Don’t say, Khalil Herbert he was brought in because they had nobody. Moss lost that job to Chase Brown.
They might think he’s more confident but to say they think he’s a full below now is a Huuuggee leap
Bellcow
Moss got hurt
And my point is they wouldn’t have brought in competition if they wanted him to be the star of the show. They prolly like him more now but he’s still no bellcow and has stats that are due for regression in an offense that will likely not repeat its numbers from this year
Rookie?
Pardon me Brown.

Here’s my main argument @OldeManStrength 19 carries a game, 5.5 targets a game, 87% snap share, and how productive Cincy’s offense was are all due to decrease. There’s also the uncertainty of what could happen this offseason. So, all of these mean that he’s a fine buy as an rb2 but a low rb1 price is valued at his ceiling
I personally like Chase Brown a lot. If I can buy him for anything less then a first im accepting it fs
I like Chase Brown. But he might not be good long term. Not 100% sure where he falls on value list for the Bengals
I ended up having to run after making this post. Good conversation. Means I need to get out and buy Brown before the draft. Funniest thing is, all of the detractors in this thread didn’t once mention anything about his play. It’s all based on stats and statistical regression. You clearly didn’t watch, cuz I’d question your sanity if you watched him and still said any of this.
