TE Premium Makes the TE Landscape Worse. Change My Mind.

I guess if it is a flex spot rather than just a TE spot then there is some value in it.

Premium increases the disparity between the top and the bottom so it makes the problem worse

But then you’re basically taking the position out of the game, devaluing a position that makes it fun imo. If you want a top TE, pay up. If you want to play the stream game or find a late round guy, do that. Just like the QB position.

I disagree that Te premium increases the disparity between the top and bottom tes. If Kelce catches 100 balls and Knox catches 30, they are the same distance apart in ppr and Te premium.

@DWilliams yes but before kelce would get 10 points while the other guy gets 5 points and with a premium it shoots kelce to 15 points while the other guy is at 7.5

Sure, TE premium creates a higher ceiling but it in no way “makes the Te landscape worse.” The goal is still to score as high as possible and if you have a top tier Te it gives an advantage and if you don’t have a top tier Te the prospective talent pool is larger that non-Te premium. It’s still a weekly game and working those little cracks and crevices are fun and challenging (to me). I don’t disagree with your basic points about the higher ceiling, but for me it’s not a big deal.

i dont rlly love te prem but doesnt bother me
