“Most Yards Per Route Run by a rookie wide receiver since 2009 per @PFF Odell Beckham Jr - 2.75 AJ Brown - 2.67 👀 Percy Harvin - 2.34 Hakeem Nicks - 2.30 Tyreek Hill - 2.28 https://t.co/kRB1dYo0FR”
percy harvin chillin on the list knowing damn well he hasn’t done anything since his junior year in the NFL
hakeem nicks ain’t even draftable no mo idk how this list bodes for AJB if these the type of people hes in the same group with
So Odell and Tyreek are just nobodies then? @jack1324
2.67 yards per route? Either I’m not understanding this stat or it’s not being described correctly. Need some help here. I haven’t had my coffee.
@jdean it accounts for downs where they do not get thrown the ball.
@MacGyver204 thanks, got it now. Pretty silly stat, honestly.
@jdean as a rookie it's big because it's showing their potential for workload (opportunities) and rookies typically don't trend high with this stat.
Sleeper is definitely conspiring to get everyone to reach for AJ Brown, how about we talk about Ryan Tannehill instead.
Sure, from weeks 10 to 17 Ryan Tannehill was the #3 QB
From week 10 to 17 AJ Brown was ranked #2 at WR
What about Derrick Henry?
@CheckUrSource yards per route run, which includes plays where a pass was not thrown is an absurdly stupid stat.
@jdean again, it's showing workload ie confidence from coaches to be out there. Some rookies don't even see the field until mid season. When they're getting opportunities to be on the field in their... ... you know, nevermind. Don't pay attention to the stat.
@CheckUrSource I get that to a degree....but why not just count snaps, if that’s what you’re looking for.
This stat is extremely flawed. Anyone that has actually studied statistics can tell you that. And by the way, I believe AJ Brown is an absolute beast. Perhaps this stat is nothing more than confirmation of that to some degree, but it takes into account entirely way too many factors for it to be anything other than “interesting”.
In other words, this stat needs more context. It’s silly, otherwise.
It shows efficiency and market share in one stat. It's not silly.
Taking account of run plays where the WR was on the field but didn’t actually run a route actually deflates the value of that WR, because it inflates the value of WRs that weren’t on the field for running plays.
Efficiency? What efficiency? Market share? What are you talking about?
This is absolutely a ridiculous stat. It shows nothing. Whoever found the stat just saw some names that had similar production and found it interesting.
And that’s all it is: interesting
There is no context. No accountability in the stat.
It’s silly.
So you’re saying AJ Brown will get hurt this season
