“Jets' QB Joe Flacco said he won't be ready for the regular-season opener after off-season neck surgery:
Just retire
Your clipboard will be waiting for you.
Still don’t understand this signing
You’ve fleeced each team you’ve played for...just enjoy your millions and your epicness and go away.
@Orange_Crush Fleecing still not as bad as Sam Bradford
Droppable even in deeep SF dynasty
@17seconds oh my gosh 100% truth haha
My fantasy season is already over
If you don't understand this super cheap signing, think about what happened when darnold was out last year and how God awful the jets offense was. Flaccos not a superstar, but he has shown he can lead a team to wins sometimes, Falk and whoever else was in there were just awful.
Ha! Got em!
@McL0vinMcLaurin Last year he showed can stink up the joint with the best of them and then got outplayed by a rookie.
He didn't get outplayed by Locke lol, they wanted to see if Locke was good enough to build on. Didn't he also have a neck injury? @UncleRicoJr3rd
And no doubt, I'm not saying he's a stud, but for a pretty low cap hit, he's a pretty real improvement over Falk.
Having a functional backup is a massively important thing to NFL franchises that are gunning for the playoffs. Ask Philly in their Superbowl run, ask the KC chiefs in their Superbowl run (wouldn't have been #1 seed without the wins they got with Moore while Mahomes was out, etc.)
Ask the Steelers as they didn't have one and lost with an otherwise stout team
Guarantee the Steelers would've been better off with flacco as a backup than Mason Rudolph and Duck Hodges. And I guarantee the jets, who went 7-9 but lost every game badly when darnold was gone (4 weeks, right?), would've had a better shot if they had a decent backup.
@UncleRicoJr3rd
Now layer in Covid as something that probably disqualifies players from playing, and backups are more important than ever.
@McL0vinMcLaurin Flacco was 2-6 with only 6 passing TDs and 5 interceptions. Lock went 4-1 with 7 TDs and only 3 interceptions in 5 games. Their QBR ratings and completion % are nearly identical, so, YEAH, with more TDs and less interceptions per game and more wins, Lock > Flacco in 2019.
Sounds good. I'm really not sure why we're comparing flacco and lock, we should be comparing flacco to Falk, as that's the job he just got signed for.
Or Morgan now, I guess
@McL0vinMcLaurin I brought up that Flacco sucks and was outplayed by Lock the rookie. Now, is Flacco an upgrade over Falk? Probably but then you’re just debating levels of suck, like the old South Park “Giant Douche vs Turd Sandwich”. The Jets are screwed either but I guess they can hope for the magic Flacco of the playoffs before he signed the big $$$ deal magically reappears.
BTW, Turd Sandwich all the way, and it’s the only answer!
It's an upgrade at a position of need that didn't cost much, seems pretty straightforward. Levels of suck argument or not.
