“Saints sign former Titans WR Rishard Matthews”
brees could make him relevant again. he wasnt too shabby 2015-2017
@scotland he should compete with Ginn and Smith for an outside role. I think they want Kirkwood to be the slot guy.
@Jabba that’s surprising, I was under the impression that was Austin Carr’s role initially until this signing. Richards a little big for the slot so second wide out to Thomas seems like the right fit
Bad news for Trequon smith
Cut in camp
When's the last time he did anything?
Good signing. I’ll use a late rounder for him if he’s still there
Nah theres a reason they've been looking for wrs. Smith should be able to take the wr2 spot from Ginn. But after them it's up for grabs. Matthews is much better than Carr.
60-something grabs, almost 1000yds and 9tds two years ago for Matthews
Just reminding everyone that he couldn't beat out Tajae Sharpe, Taywan Taylor, Deontay Burnette, or Jermaine Kearse last season. I know Brees has got the magic arm, but the Saints would have to lose 4 players in their receiving core before Matthews would start to gain value.
there was probably more to it than that being that he led the team for a couple seasons before. he asked to be released after the season started and the titans granted it
he asked to be released because LaFleur told him he had to earn playing time, it's really that simple
he felt disprespected by not being handed the WR2 job with the new coaching staff @Primed
i can see that
@frankcastle draft in June!? Why!?
It’s dynasty or really doesn’t matter.
He never had a chance with Mariota
@Jabba he's not
Low key sleeper? I honestly forgot about him
DeAndre Hopkins or Rishard Matthews?
WR2 on the saints?????????
(no)
Titans made all kinds of puzzling playing time decisions though- Matthews wasn’t given a real shot despite their struggles and despite his pst success. Not saying he handled it well or anything, but past performance and talent was there
@Mazing24 Carr probably wont even make the team now
