Williams is an underrated pass catcher

urafatcow 2 years ago

Denver should run the crap out of Melvin and save javonte till next season… cuz Melvin was decent last year and he has no trade value to their team

O I stayed away in all the leagues I’m in bcuz he’s not gonna be relevant this year but he’s still got some in the tank. All he’s gonna do is take like 8 carries a game away from javonte

ssadler1121 2 years ago

Williams or ETN?

RBBC on a team with the worse QB in the league. Pass

Etn has to deal with Robinson, Hyde and Lawrence rushing. Atleast with Williams we know he's going to only split with Melvin and he's going to his share of goal line touches.

Gordon keeps Javonte off the field more then anybody wants until 2022 when Gordon will be gone. Because that’s fantasy football. It hurts you.

Rip Gordon. Should have not cried and stayed with Chargers.

This situation screams J.K Dobbins and Mark Ingram 2020.

AdamSchefters 2 years ago

Ingram is a talented veteran that has to split carries with a rookie who was picked at a top draft spot with higher upside. Neither Mark or JK were consistent enough last year to where it made a huge impact on your fantasy team. They were good in stints but not consistent enough to make a starting lineup week in week out. Talent yes... But why risk it when we have 0 reference to how the split carries will break down. You can draft players where your certain of their volume in the same range.

AdamSchefters 2 years ago

Dynasty or keeper yes this is great news.

SlickDaRuler 2 years ago

I see. Theres a big difference to me is lamar and pierce were eating a ton of carries too. There's also a difference in skill set and part from ingram and Gordon. Gordon is 28 and people act like it's 31 like ingram's was last season. Gordon is more versatile athletic rb, who thrives as a wr and good for preserving himself. So I think he'll be much more productive than ingram at 31.

I said Ingram is a talented veteran running back... Not his last season. Ingram was a top 12 back on a high powered offense and td dependent that season. The broncos are no where near as run heavy nor are they high powered offense purely because their QB situation. So this is a poor man's version of this. Whatever biaes we want to bring outside of that don't change the fact that the Broncos are splitting their backfield on mediocre offense at best. It will positively regress some from last year, but enough to be confident in starting Gordon or Javonte all season no. The odds of Rbs busting after Rd 3 is substantial based off the past 10 years of fantasy data. Do I love Melvin as a talent and have no idea why they drafted an rb? Yes! Will I continue to be loyal to his past production when his management clearly thinks otherwise? No. If you're willing to take that risk kudos.

So from an expectation stand point, I'm not suggesting he's a rb1. I think his receptions in ppr will definitely make him an rb2 and williams an rb3 as both will get 15 touches although 4-5 of those will be catches for gordon while Williams will probably get 1-2 catches. That said for they're ADP, Melvin is better value. Getting him in the 7th as your 3rd rb after grabbing an qb like herbert/wilson in the 6th could be a league winner.

AdamSchefters 2 years ago

That's the risk your willing to take.

Is Melvin Gordon III dead?

1
SchmokinMidz42069 2 years ago

I don’t believe nonsense like this, Gordon III is a great RB and they paid him $8 Million Per Year to be some scrub rookie’s backup?? I don’t think so

A better way to say that would be, Gordon III is still a good running back and they paid him 8 million per year to complement Phil Lindsay. However, neither one fits the bill on and off the field and they traded up to draft a highly productive prospect to eventually take over the backfield
