Paying mostert for this season alone wouldnt be an issue, its next year when the niners need to allocate as much space as they can to bring back kittle and trent williams with hefty raises and a decrease in the salary cap. Tevin was only signed to a 2 year deal so its a non issue for next year

He’s not asking for much, it’s just not the right time. He also has no leverage. No guarantee, too many rbs to say your sitting out, signed for 3 years and will lose value to anyone else if he sits out because he hasn’t started much. Yeah Mahomes definitely has a better supporting cast, coaching included, than Stafford did on the Lions. Everything came together for Mahomes, and I don’t think his talent would’ve been fully realized on a bad franchise, such as the Lions.
