“Chiefs RBs coach expects 'big jump' for Williams https://t.co/rZkdqHqzvo”
He could definitely pop at the end of the season like sanders did
This year he's a risky Round 2 but safe Round 3 with immense upside. Just don't make him your RB1 in fantasy, he should be your RB2 paired with a safe RB1.
This is like when Dallas drafted Zeke and said he would have to compete for the starting job
Remember he was the 32nd pick. Not a fair comparison to zeke
@TheSixRingSting that's your opinion, you don't draft a RB 4th overall in a draft & say "go out there & compete for the starting job" the job is his and they drafted him as the cornerstone of their franchise.
Yes but teams have backed off rb this year. A Jonathan Taylor type player a couple of years ago would have gone top 5 but now he’s in the second round. I guess they learned if there not going to pay them on there second contracts they shouldn’t use high draft capital on them
@Sleeeeepy @Warriors86 put it well there. You also don't look at your All-world QB to ask which RB he wants just to bench him
@Sleeeeepy and that is not just my opinion, the Dallas coaches actually did say in the summer that Zeke would need to compete. It's just coach speak
I would much rather take a WR in the second and take Montgomery in the 4th
@TheSixRingSting coaches say one thing but when it's all said and done, they usually more times end up doing the opposite.
I think you guys are agreeing
I'm getting that feeling now too haha
Basically the coach expects Williams to take a "big jump" out of CEH's way this year
@Warriors86 you're correct, running backs careers end much much faster than WR or QB careers.
Andy Reid doesn’t really seem to like Damien Williams. He trashed him in the news when he was injured, brought in Carlos Hyde and lesean McCoy last offseason and even tried to use Darwin Thompson even though he clearly was not ready for the nfl
Yes I know that but I’m thinking the league has finally smartened up to the fact that it’s smarter to just bring in new rb every couple years then using high draft capital on a rb. So now a late 1st early second is high draft capital on rb
He could pop right away I’m just not willing to risk it in the 2nd round. Maybe late 3rd but he won’t make it that far and I’m fine with that lol but we’ll find out soon enough. Can’t wait for football
And the comparisons to Darwin thompson are terrible. He was picked in the 6th round and was not a standout in college. Ceh was the best pass catcher of the top 5 rb this year and he went to the team who has the best passing game
@Warriors86 darwin thompson was drafted in the 6th round of the draft & 17th RB in the draft, idk why the heck people were excited or expected anything out of that guy.
It was because this offense is so prolific but I agree he was only with a final round dart throw at the most last year
Damien Williams has looked amazing in this offense and he was never much before he had a starting role.
When he was on the dolphins no one was very concerned about him
If Kareem hunt didn’t beat up a girl he would be irrelevant
@Warriors86 I wouldn't go as far as to say "amazing" he has had his moments here and there but for some reason the playoffs the past 2 years is where damien williams has really shined.
